ABOUT US

At our after-school program, we emphasize using the after-class (gakudo) service three or more times a week. The school environment is all English, enabling abundant English input through sounds and rhythms. Our aim is for students to naturally absorb English without the need for Japanese translation, fostering the ability to comprehend and deduce overall meanings. By developing flexibility and applicability, we reduce resistance to encountering "unknown, incomprehensible English" and create an environment conducive to effortless absorption.
For Japanese speakers in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context, it's said that around 2000 hours are needed for English proficiency. Since 2020, English has become part of elementary school curriculum, with 35 hours annually for lower grades and 70 hours for upper grades. If students can spend concentrated English time after school from their first year of elementary school, achieving 2000 hours by the time they reach higher grades becomes feasible.

Mr. Kyle, a dedicated educator at OOSH After School, brings over 10 years of teaching experience. Starting his journey at a junior high school in Nishinomiya-kitaguchi, he later joined an international preschool in Kobe, where he crafted an engaging curriculum and educational resources.
Mr. Kyle's ultimate aim is to instill in his students the confidence to pursue their passions. By sharing the wonders of our world, he hopes to inspire them to contribute positively and create a brighter future.

Introducing Ms. Megumi. With over 10 years of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our program. Ms. Megumi's journey began as a skilled dog trainer, honing her expertise worldwide.
Returning to Japan, she immersed herself in the field of childhood education as a teacher's assistant at a preschool in Kobe. Inspired by the transformative power of an international mindset, she pursued certification as a preschool educator and delved into the MPI language teaching system.
Committed to expanding horizons, Ms. Megumi aims to provide OOSH students with the same enriching experiences that shaped her own journey.
